Emmaline gets passed around quite a bit when my whole family gets together. There's no telling when your turn will come, so it's essential to bring along a little bit of patience when visiting with Emma. Actually, bring along a lot of patience if my sister Roxanne is nearby. Aunt RoRo is a Baby Hog.
Aunt Roxanne - BABY HOG |
Exhibit A
My brother Larry joyfully holding Emmaline:
As you'll see in the video, everyone's having a good time and Roxanne swoops in to interrupt playtime:
"I need to see her in her outfit," she states, and Uncle Larry willingly passes on the babe.
Exhibit B
Now in possession of Emmaline, Aunt RoRo props her on the bed for an impromptu photo shoot. (I guess that's why she needed to see her outfit.) I gladly join in the fun, snapping numerous pictures of Emma. But Roxanne is still running the show, still using up her baby time, as evidenced by her hand in pic #1 below:

Evidently having snapped enough pictures, Aunt RoRo lies down with Emmaline. I'm happy to be on the periphery of what I still consider Aunt RoRo's time (after all, Emmaline is in her arms). They make a cute pair:
Grandpa stops by to say hello. |
Exhibit D
Still in Roxanne's arms, Emmaline seems fascinated by my phone. Delighted with her adorableness, I switch to video mode. This video is the smoking gun in the Case of the Baby Hog. As you will see, Aunt RoRo cuts the video short, taking Emma away without warning. I'm still wondering why. Why?! The only answer could be that Roxanne is a Baby Hog. Watch, and see if you can spot Roxanne caught in a bold-faced lie:
"No, I just got her." Did you hear that? "I just got her." Not true! You stole Emmaline from Uncle Larry, then had time for a photo shoot plus a cuddle session, all caught on camera. You did not "just got her".
Also heard on the smoking gun video, I asked nicely for my own time with Emma. Notice my audible sigh when my request for baby time was met not only with a no, but with a lie. Roxanne, aka Aunt RoRo, is lucky I remembered to pack a lot of patience.
I know she knows better, but I also know that a Baby Hog will go to great lengths to, well, hog the baby.
I can't say I blame her.
hahahaha! love it
ReplyDeleteAs the mother of beautiful little Emmaline, I am just happy that she is so loved and adored.
